DUC AT A GLANCE
CONTEXT
The DUC is a community of practice working to support better quality care through data use by collaborating across facilities, countries, care levels, and organizations. The community can address these complex problems by collaborating with subject matter experts, country teams, and other stakeholders to shape best practices and share technical frameworks and artifacts from already implemented solutions. This will drive the ability of each country to formulate customized solutions to address its specific data issues.
Drawing from on-the-ground country experiences
Shaping and consolidating best practices
Sharing technical frameworks and artifacts from already implemented solutions
Being responsive to individual country needs and helping them form customized solutions to address their specific needs
Community Approach
PEPFAR and other donors recognize the need to coordinate and align their investments, frameworks, and strategies to maximize the impact in the countries they support. Initiated by PEPFAR, the DUC offers the community a way to involve and engage with a multitude of agencies, organizations, and stakeholders. The community can approach these conversations with a user-centered design to understand the current landscape. These solutions will be built to be scalable and sustainable. This collaboration and integration of data will not only drive efficiency, but also improve patient care and programmatic impact.
The community will engage with and support data managers, epidemiologists, strategic information advisors, surveillance officers, monitoring and evaluation officers, program managers, health information system managers, system/database administrators, and data scientists. The stakeholders engaged will have a diverse geographical and service delivery representation. They will collaborate and look at these challenges from diverse perspectives and create a comprehensive view of the challenges and needed solutions.
